Normally, if you work in the shipping terminal and container storage yard, the most important daily routine work tasks to lift, move, stack and storage all cargo containers finishing products. Powered Industrial Lift Truck “Reach Stacker”, are the work forces often used to get this job done. To operating this piece of equipment’s used on the job safely are required skills and experience. If the Reach Stacker Truck operated by the untrained personnel or unauthorized personnel, it will be caused accident and normally the accident involve are vital even caused dead. Therefore, only trained, and authorized personnel only allow to use and operated this Powered Industrial Truck. Operation of the Reach Stacker involved more individual in the operator, truck, and operating environment to provide optimum performance safety they required all the factors to work together as a team.
As such, OSHA 1994 (Act 514) Regulation, required all the Powered Industrial Truck Operator go through the proper safety training in theory as well as practical before operating. This been the main responsibilities to all the employers to provide this training to their Reach Stacker Operators. However, operator need to re-train in every 12 month’s calendar or every new improvement product take place as well as any new regulation amended, to ensure safety in handling and operation carried out properly at all time.

Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the participants will be able to:
- Understand the Safety and Regulation under the requirement of the OSHA 1994 (Act 514)
- Understand the Engineering Principles and determine the Centre Of Gravity, Safety Lifting Capacity, Maximum Load Height, Other Safe and Unsafe Condition
- Understand the Data Plate of the Reach Stacker Truck and be able to use it to determine the Safe Working Load (SWL) in the different Load Center distance.
- Understand the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control on the daily routine and safe operation work tasks
- Improve driving technique through educate the operator by strengthen their responsibility, technical knowledge, handling skills and the correct operational attitudes to be a trained as a competent operator
- Avoid and minimized accident and kept the workplace in all time safe operating condition and increase in productivity as well as efficiency
- To reduce the high maintenance cost impacted by the company due to breakdown for repairing.
Training Methodology
Lectures by using Bahasa Malaysia and English, interactive atmospheres for participants to training, all hand-out notes in an English, Power Point presentation in English to covering all the topics. Theory evaluation in the classroom and Practical evaluation on site practical.
