Designed for MHE handlers on aspects pertaining to personal safety, and the properties while operating the vehicle.

Know More
Duration: 2 Days

Forklift Safety Certification Training is critical for anyone operating a forklift truck or, in other words, material handling equipment (MHE). A forklift truck is a powerful machine designed to handle heavy, costly, and potentially dangerous goods. Unfortunately, accidents involving forklift trucks often occur due to handlers neglecting safety regulations, failing to follow safe working procedures, and lacking sufficient mental preparation.

This training is designed carefully with the initiative to increase the awareness of MHE handlers on aspects pertaining to personal safety, surrounding people, and the properties while operating the vehicle. This module will also indirectly increase the skill, competency, and mental preparation of the MHE handlers.

Lastly, the good record and skill of a trained MHE handler will be most valuable to the company and his future.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is forklift training?

Forklift training teaches operators the skills and safety measures required to handle forklifts, ensuring efficient and safe operation in the workplace.

Who needs forklift training?

All forklift operators, including new hires and experienced workers needing certification, are required to complete forklift training for safe operations.

Is forklift training mandatory in Malaysia?

Yes, under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994, forklift operators must undergo certified training to ensure workplace safety.

What are the benefits of forklift training?

It reduces workplace accidents, improves productivity, ensures OSHA compliance, and boosts employee confidence in handling forklifts safely.

How long does forklift training take?

Training duration varies, but it typically takes between 1 to 2 days, covering both theory and practical sessions.

What is the difference between a 1-day and 2-day course?

The 1-day course covers the basics of forklift safety and is ideal for those with some experience, focusing on key safety practices. The 2-day course goes into more detail, includes additional hands-on practice, and is suitable for beginners or those needing more in-depth training.

Is it HRD Corp claimable?

Yes, our forklift safety and certification training is HRD Corp claimable. Companies registered with HRD Corp can apply for funding to cover training costs. For assistance with the HRD Corp grant application, please visit hrdcorp.gov.my/employer-forms.

Can two companies collaborate to organize a training session, and how will the costs and HRD Corp grant application be handled?

Yes, two companies can collaborate to organize a joint training session under HRD Corp's Skim Latihan Bersama. Here's how it works:

  1. Organizing the Session: Both companies can arrange the training together, selecting a training provider and coordinating logistics. Each company must ensure that the training provider is HRD Corp registered and that the course is claimable under HRD Corp.
  2. Cost Splitting: The training cost can be split based on the number of participants from each company or through any agreed proportion. For example, if Company A has 10 participants and Company B has 5, Company A may cover two-thirds of the cost, and Company B covers one-third.
  3. HRD Corp Grant Application: Each company needs to submit its own grant application to HRD Corp for its share of the training costs, indicating that the training is conducted under the Skim Latihan Bersama, and must meet HRD Corp's eligibility requirements.

This setup allows companies to share training costs while ensuring that each company's employees receive HRD Corp funding.

What are the requirements to attend forklift training?

Participants should be at least 18 years old, medically fit, and possess basic reading and comprehension skills.

How many participants can attend each session?

Each session can accommodate up to 15 participants to maintain efficiency and ensure sufficient time for practical activities.

How often should forklift operators undergo retraining?

OSHA recommends retraining every 2-3 years or whenever the operator shows unsafe practices, is involved in an accident, or if there are changes in workplace conditions or equipment.

Can the training be conducted at the client's site?

Yes, we offer on-site training to allow operators to learn in their actual work environment.

Is there an assessment at the end of the training?
