Duration: 1 Day

Hearing Conservation, PPE Awareness is a training program subjected to Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Noise Exposure Regulation 2019) where the regulation requires management to provide an awareness training program to all its workers who are exposed to high noise level. The proposed program aim is to provide the necessary information and to caution workers from having a permanent hearing impairment. The regulation clearly stipulates that it is a must for workers to repeat the training session every year.

The Personal Protective Equipment information in this program is presented in a definite order, so that employees will see the relationships between the various groups of information and can retain them more easily. The sections included in the Personal Protective Equipment and Hearing Conservation Awareness program are:

Application of PPE
  • Review of OSHA's Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Standards
  • PPE to guard against eye and face hazards
  • PPE to guard against respiratory hazards
  • PPE to guard against head hazards
  • PPE to guard against feet hazards
  • PPE to guard against hand and finger hazards
Hearing Conservation Awareness
  • Introduction to Sound and Noise
  • Anatomy and Physiology of the Ear and Human Speech
  • Hearing Protectors and Its Application
  • Audiometric (Hearing) Test

Each of the sections covers important information in one topic area, providing employees with the basis for identifying situations where Personal Protective Equipment should be used, and determining what type of equipment is most appropriate. The above training program is highly recommended for workers, supervisor and technicians and for employees exposed to noise. This program can be delivered either in Bahasa Malaysia or English to suit the participant's preference.
