Occupational First Aid Certification Training

DURATION: 2 Days      

The provision of learning, training and awareness across all level of employees within an organization is a statutory requirement under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514). The recommended Training program is suitable for commercial and industrial sites where large numbers of staff members can be instructed in Occupational First Aid, AED & CPR procedures. The course is an ideal method for Management to discharge certain responsibilities under relevant Occupational Health and Safety Act 1994, Duty of Care. The need for first aid training is further supported by the FMA & OSHA Guide lines for First Aid in the Workplace which identifies that employers should ensure that an appropriate number of suitably trained first aid members are provided.

The Guide line is a practical guidance on meeting the requirements of Section 25 of the Factories and Machinery Act 1967 (Act 139) and Regulation 38 of the Factories and Machinery (Safety, Health and Welfare) Regulations 1970 state the scope of responsibility of an occupier with regards to first-aid provision.

The training method and contents are designed to offer participants an understanding on varieties of first aid techniques and its application. This course further provides dialogue and talks with participants on why a very high proportion of first aid members unable to act appropriately during an emergency. Participants of this program will also have the opportunity to individually participate in practical demonstration which we believe will provide a better understanding in managing first Aid and CPR.

The above training program is highly recommended for appointed first aid members, workers, supervisor, technicians, security members, OSH committee members plus company managers and engineers.

Scope

The program scope is to provide a general understanding on Occupational First Aid, AED & CPR, the relevant laws & regulations, first aid & CPR administration plus casualty prevention and anticipation during any kind of emergency.

Objectives

Successful completion of this program will enhance the skills of participants and enable them to:

  • Understand how to record all details of First Aid given.
  • Understand and carry out recording of signs and symptoms of a patient.
  • Identify First Aid, AED & CPR principles and its procedures.
  • Familiar with First Aid, AED & CPR application.
  • Demonstrate and perform First Aid, AED & CPR in an emergency.

Training Methodology

The program consists of classroom lectures, practical demonstration and video presentation. This program can be delivered either in Bahasa Malaysia or English to suit the participant’s prefer.

Who Should Attend?

In general, work place First Aid, involves everybody from top management down to floor workers. The proposed training module is designed to suit all levels of employees.

The levels include:-

  • Executive/Management
  • High risk worker – involved directly with hazard
  • Low risk worker – involved indirectly with hazard
  • Other worker – do not involve with any hazard
