The provision of learning, training and awareness across all level of employees within an organization is a statutory requirement under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514). The Overhead Crane, Hoist Safety & Certification Training is recommended and suitable for Commercial and Industrial sites where large numbers of staff members can be instructed in Crane Safety procedures. This course is an ideal approach for Management to discharge certain responsibilities under relevant Occupational Health and Safety Act 514 requirements of their Duty of care.
The training method and contents are designed to offer participants an understanding on various crane safety operation techniques among which to know pre operational checks, rigging, slinging, assess and control of operational hazards and risk associated at their workplace. This course further provides dialogue and talks with participants on why a very high proportion of dangerous occurrence results from substandard acts and conditions. Participants of this program will also have the opportunity to individually demonstrate and improve their skill which we believe will provide a better understanding in crane operation.

Objectives
This Crane Safety training is designed to provide operators with a general overview of overhead crane safety operation, to provide understanding on pre-operation safety inspections and basic operating techniques and general rigging and slinging procedures. The course also focuses on the safe work practices and procedures necessary to work with this equipment.
Training Methodology
The program format includes; a power point presentation, crane safety videos and a practical session. Participants may also be required to complete a written evaluation. This program can be delivered either in Bahasa Malaysia or English to suit the participant’s preference.

A. Organizing the Session:
- Both companies can arrange the training together, selecting a training provider and coordinating logistics.
- Each company must ensure that the training provider is HRD Corp registered and that the course is claimable under HRD Corp.
B. Cost Splitting:
- The training cost can be split based on the number of participants from each company or through any agreed proportion.
- For example, if Company A has 10 participants and Company B has 5, Company A may cover two-thirds of the cost, and Company B covers one-third.
- The split must be agreed upon in advance, as HRD Corp will process claim separately for each company.
C. HRD Corp Grant Application:
- Each company needs to submit its own grant application to HRD Corp for its share of the training costs.
- In the application, each company should indicate that the training is conducted under the Skim Latihan Bersama.
- Both companies must meet HRD Corp’s requirements for eligibility and submit the necessary documents for claim approval.
This setup allows companies to share training costs while ensuring that each company’s employees receive HRD Corp funding.
